Protest at Lalzi Bay

01/03/2014 00:00

Residents of the Shen Pjeter village, in the Ishm Commune, have
protested by saying that their land has been taken unjustly for the
construction of a tourist village in the Lalzi Bay.

Claiming that there have been abuses with the coastal land, the former government has favored the foreign investor by damaging the property of the village residents. Protesters asked an intervention from the Prime Minister and the State Institution for verifying the illegal situation.

The protest of the residents was calm and in presence of police officers. In January 2014, the Directory of Forest Service has asked the company to remove the surrounding wires, and noted that no measures have been taken for preserving the biodiversity through the work.

Although the deadline is over, the surrounding wires have not been removed.
