Protest against hydropower plant construction

The residents of four villages in the Ostren commune, Bulqize, are
protesting against the construction of a hydropower plant that uses
their water resources.
They say that this hydropower plant puts out of order the four water pumps of the four villages, and it will use the water that irrigates 150 hectares of agricultural land by destroying the business of two mills that are very necessary for the residents of this area. The Ostren residents gathered in a protest to oppose this project.
The representatives of the construction company answered by showing the concession documents that hold the signature of the Albanian Prime Minister.
This is the second time that the residents are protesting against this project. They say that the construction destroys their living sources, the water they use for their crops and cattle.
