The construction works for the Fier Bypass were interrupted without even
starting. Dozens of Dermans Commune residents have stopped the
company’s vehicles from working.
The cause for their protest was the low expropriation value. The Head of the Dermenas commune supports the residents and during a meeting with the Italian supervisor he declared that the expropriation price needs to be reviewed.
200 families will be expropriated for this bypass, but residents say that they don’t agree with the price, which is 4000 ALL for square meter.
The residents are determined to no allow the construction of this bypass if the expropriation price will not be reviewed.
