Civil society representatives, artists, analysts, common citizens and
environmentalists have held a protest in front of the Albanian Prime
Minister’s office, asking for Albania not to accept the chemical weapons
that are expected to come from Syria for being destroyed in Albania.
They accused the government of not making this matter transparent, and falling prey of the United States pressure when they don’t have any obligation to accept this.
Analyst Fatos Lubonja considered it a shame that our country is turning into a rubbish bin.
“We don’t have the adequate territory for this, because our water system could cause a higher contamination due to the rich spread of water sources”, declared environmentalist Lavdosh Feruni.
Protesters say that they will not stop until the government rejects the process.
