Prosecutor General Llalla meets Kosovo President and counterpart Lumezi

The Chief Prosecutors of Kosovo and Albania have discussed the main challenges of the prosecution systems in both countries.

The Prosecution Council of Kosovo says in a press release that delegation of the Prosecution of Albania, led by Prosecutor General Adriatik Lalla, was invited to Kosovo by PG Aleksander Lumezi.

Lumezi told his Albanian counterpart that the main challenge of the Kosovo PG is treating the war crime, corruption and economic crime matters. Luemzi updated the colleagues from Albania that the Special Prosecution of Kosovo has established the War Crime Department.

The Albanian PG said that both institutions will continue the good cooperation in the future and will reinforce the legal system in both countries for a quicker integration in the EU.

In a meeting with President Atifete Jahjaga, held behind closed doors, the PG of Albania and the President of Kosovo discussed the importance of deepening the mutual cooperation and the global challenge, such as fighting terrorism and radical extremism.
