The Provisory Prosecutor General, Arta Marku, met today with the Italian Ambassador to Tirana, Alberto Cutillo, to discuss cooperation between both countries.
For Albania, Italy is an important partner in the fight against organized crime and criminal traffics.
Marku said that the institution she leads and the Italian law-enforcing institutions will intensify their joint coordination against criminal groups that operate between both countries.
Marku thanked Ambassador Cutillo for his personal commitment and that of his country in drafting the judiciary reform of Albania.
The Prosecutor General underlined the significance of the Vetting process, stating that the integration of Prosecutors and Judges will with the fight against organized crime and international traffic.
According to the Prosecution, in this meeting, they also discussed the full implementation of the decriminalization law. The Italian diplomat expressed his readiness to cooperate with the Albanian authorities and realize the soonest possible the process that will verify the integrity of Albanian officials.
