The Tirana Prosecution ordered a second forensic medical expertise for
the death of 27-year-old Luca Olivotto, who passed away last year in
Albania. The second request was asked because the team of investigators
received no answer in the first conclusion if they are dealing with a
negligent treatment by the 61-year-old doctor who is now under
investigation, Tullio Simoncini.
According to documents secured by Top Channel, the Prosecution is requesting a new test to see how the 27-year-old Italian patient was treated in our country, and to shed more light on three questions that would orient the investigations against the Italian doctor, Tullio Simoncini.
The Prosecutor’s questions are:
– Would the patient have died from cancer without the intervention and treatment in the Tirana private hospital?
– Are there signs of negligent treatment by the medical staff of this hospital?
– If negligent treatment elements are present, have they affected the death of the patient or has it accelerated the disease?
The Prosecution have attached all respective medical documents and medical staff declarations. These documents state that Luca Olivotto died from acute pulmonary oedema, subject to a malign cerebral tumour treated with sodium bicarbonate.
Experts explain that toxicology tests showed traces of valium and sodium bicarbonate taken through IV or an oxygen mask.
