Shkelqim Muca, 42, died after an explosion at the Ballsh oil refinery
while five others were injured. Early testimonies suggest the explosion
might have been caused by a repeated defect of a cleaning pump.

Prosecution has started investigations for violation of security codes, after the Technical Inspectorate found that the explosion was caused by failure to respect the technical protocol, and the entire city was put in danger.

The refinery administrators say that the incident was caused by a human error and by an unwarned power interruption.

Muca’s colleagues are shocked after his death and want justice to be done in the factory that started operating a few months ago after one year of suspended works.
