After more than one year of difficult investigations, the four
prosecutors of the January 21st tragedy filed to court the case for the
murder of three protesters and wounding of three others, while no killer
was identified for the death of Aleks Nika and the wounding of Artes
Dybeli, Ilia Qesko and Ilia Papa.

The former National Guard Commander, Ndrea Prendi, was sent to court on murder charges for the death of Faik Myrtaj. The Prosecution claims that the bullet that killed Myrtaj was shot from Prendi’s gun, according to the FBI expertise.

The Prosecution says that through a megaphone, the National Guard has warned the protesters several times for not entering the Prime Ministry’s building, and then they have fired warning shots in the air.

According to the Prosecution, these shots have caused the death of Ziver Veizaj and Hekuran Dedaj, for the murder of which is accused the National Guard soldier, Agim Llupo, who is waiting his verdict in court.

Llupo is accused of murder in qualifying circumstances, for wounding Erald Bisha and journalist Fatos Mahmutaj. The Prosecution declared that the investigations are still undergoing for the other protester that was killed, Aleks Nika.

As for Margarit Kume, a National Guard commander, the Prosecution raised charges of obstructing the truth, for which he is under house arrest.

He will be investigated by the Prosecution for changing his “Beretta” weapon, while the former IT specialist at the Council of Ministers will be investigated for deleting the video footage from the Prime Ministry’s server.

The General Prosecution notifies that the investigations against the firing team of nine officers have been suspended.

Other persons for which the investigations have been suspended are the commander of the Special Unit, Alfred Ahmetcenaj, unit commander Altin kollcinaku, unit commander Fatos Bushati, unit commander Alexander Deda and Special Unit effectives Agron Malaj, Gazmend Ahmetaj, Sadik Cela and Mark Nikolli.
