In today’s court session for the 23 people that were arrested during the Nation’s Road protest, the Prosecution asked prison sentences for 11 of them, 5 house arrests and seven probations.

The Police took extreme security measures by putting 1000 officers in place.

There was tension between the Democratic Party MPs and police forces, who didn’t allow them inside the courtroom at first.

Edmond Spaho was seen covered in blood as he told the media: “Police forces used violence. Edi Rama will not have a long run with violence”.

He called the Interior Minister, Fatmir Xhafaj, asking him to remove the police. The Democratic Party MPs were later allowed in court, in a session that was held behind closed doors.

Citizens gathered on the other side of the Lana River, protesting the arrest.
