The Albanian Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs announced that Albanian citizens who live in Italy will no longer need to certify the translation of their documents at the Italian Embassy in Tirana. From January 1st, this certification will be offered by the Ministry.
The procedure was made possible after a close cooperation between the Albanian and Italian authorities. This will benefit Albanian immigrants by reducing the waiting time from 20 to 7 days, and the financial setback from 5,000 ALL to 2,200 ALL.
Before this, Albanians had to pay for the Apostille stamp at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, translated it and legalize it at the Italian Ministry, before it could become recognizable in Italy. With the new agreement, after the translation, the certification will be done directly by the Albanian Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
