Many Albanian emigrants that work in Greece risk losing the money they have deposited in Greek banks.

After falsifying the identity documents for emigrating, mainly in orthodox names, these people have then followed all legal actions under the fake identity. Some of them have profited insurances and risk not being able to receive pension, since their documents cannot be reviewed.

The vice Mayor of Permet, Vasil Pano, declared that their offices have been flocked by people who request certificates with the nationality specified, which is impossible to be realized.

According to the Registrar’s information, there have been requests for changing the names of the parents, which has also been falsified. Pano says that the Albanian institutions cannot resolve this situation. According to the emigrants, they people who have been obliged to change their nationality and parents’ names is very high.

2 in 5 Albanian emigrants are now facing a critical situation in Greece, since they are not able to provide the necessary documentation.
