The director of Peqin prison, Bukurosh Malluta, has been fired.

The official reasons for this decision are still unknown, but since a week, about 400 prisoners in Peqin continue to protest and some of them have gone on hunger strike.

There are some requests that they have addressed to the General Directorate of Prisons and the Ministry of Justice, but have not yet received a response.

Top Channel has secured the requests of the prisoners, where they list a series of articles which they believe have been violated, including the so-called ‘41 Bis’ Special Regime, for dangerous convicts.

Among other things, the prisoners of Peqin prison have listed 13 requests, where they ask for an all-inclusive 5-year amnesty. Life imprisonment, according to them, should be defined in 20 years as in the European Union.

They also demand that the release be applied after serving 3/5 of the sentence, and that the sentence not be increased if they are caught with a cell phone illegally smuggled in cells.
