Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future
The Albanian President, Bamir Topi, expressed his felicitations for the
third anniversary of Albania’s NATO membership through a message on the
presidential official web page.
“Albania became a NATO member three years ago, and this historical event has a place of honor in the memory of our nation, as the crowning of the long national aspirations and efforts, as the natural return of the Albanians in the Atlantic family and an important step for reinforcing peace, stability and democracy in Southeastern Europe”, President’s message declared.
“The main merit for achieving this success goes to the Albanian military men, who turned the old defense system into a new and modern one, with their professional abilities, courage and correctness, in the same standards as the other countries of this organization. For many years our military men have been and they still are part of peacekeeping missions in different countries of the world. With their professional commitment and sacrifices, even by giving their own lives, they have honored Albania and the Albanian Army”, President Topi declared.
The Albanian President concludes by underlining that same as Albania deserved NATO, the Albanian citizens deserve the EU membership.
“It is a direct responsibility of the political institutions for making this aspiration a concrete, deserved, stable and long-term reality”, the President’s message concluded.
3 year in NATO, Spahia meets Youth Council
In the third anniversary of Albania’s NATO membership, the Albanian Youth Council organized an activity in which were invited high rank leaders of the Ministry of Defense.
Minister Arben Imami was absent for health reasons, and the participants were greeted by the Deputy Minister of Defense, Ekrem Spahia.
He considered Albania’s NATO membership as very important, a fact that has brought an important reform in the Albanian army and that has ranked our country as a stability and security factor in the region and wider.
Spahia appealed the young people to widen their acknowledge about the European organisms and understand better their role and engagements, and the obligations of our country towards them.
