President returned law for new National Theater, Mayor Veliaj: “A disappointment”

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that the decision of President Meta, who returned the law for demolishing the old Tirana theater, projected by one of the greatest architects of this generation, the Danish Bjarke Ingels, is a complete disappointment.

Veliaj said that regardless, in September they will start working for approving the law in Parliament, and that Tirana will finally have a new, modern National Theater.

“We waited 40 years for a new theater, we will wait 40 days”, Veliaj wrote.
