The Socialist leader, Edi Rama, held a meeting with the leader of the
Party for Justice, Unity and Integration, Shpetim Idrizi, for the
election of the next president. He underlined that the goal of the
Socialist Party is to explore any possibility for building a process
that will bring a concrete name.

“Our goal is to respond to this major challenge for Albania, because the way how we will elect the President will determine the fate of the EU candidate status, our EU progress for European institutions, and the guarantee that the parties have with one President that will be impartial in the next elections. We are committed to open a dialogue for important political matters that cannot be resolved in war trenches, otherwise we would still be holding monologues and not make our duty towards the country, the citizens and international partners”, Rama declared.

The Socialist leader underlined that if there will be no process for the election of the new president, the result will be the worst for the fate and interests of this country.

The PJIU leader, Shpetim Idrizi, declared that he discussed with the SP leader the election of a person that may have a clear political profile and that can be consensual and all-inclusive, but he underlined that they have not discussed about any special name.

Idrizi declared that the PJIU requires that the Albanian President candidate should clearly express his program for the Cham case.
