The Head of the Albanian State, President Bamir Topi, during the
decreeing ceremony of the 10 public university rectors, mentioned the
importance of the diploma quality that they release.

The President criticized the private university system and asked for more inspection to be made on them.

“I want to share with you another problem that is very significant, for the inspection of the private university diplomas. I trust that you understand my message very well. I am the Albanian President, the Head of the State, and I become interpret of any citizens’ voice. The private universities must have an extraordinary civil responsibility in front of the law and moral. The students that enter universities start it with equal predispositions. Those who go to public universities, undergo a selection process which I believe is based on merits”, Topi declared.

The Head of the Albanian State underlined that the young people who graduate in private universities often have high and undeserved results.

“Some of them graduate without merits and with better results than the ones who graduate based on serious efforts. This cannot be achieved alone. It is an entire academic system, a matter of inspection and sincerity, and I believe that the ones who can better realize this, are the figures of the academic circles. You must keep this debate open, because education is very important”, the President declared.

In this meeting, the President asked the rectors to fight for a more righteous and stronger education system.

“I have the conviction and certainty that everyone, after today’s decree, will work in respect of the law and for realizing the mission that the public universities have towards the society”, declared the Tirana University Rector, Dhori Kule.

A great part of the decreed rectors have won their second mandate for leading the public universities throughout the country.
