The Albanian President, Bamir Topi, while visiting Shkoder, replied to the declarations of the
Environment Minister. Earlier the day, the Minister accused
the Albanian Head of State of having returned the draft of waste material import for political
reasons.

President Topi declared that the decision is based on the Constitution, and asked the authors of these accusations to respect the institutions.

“The gentlemen must know how to communicate in a democratic state, where the powers are divided in accordance to the Constitution. If repeat my political will, that I expressed through my decree. All battles of legal character that have been held until now, have been won by the Presidency. The property matter is more than enough, for which the Constitutional Court approved the President’s decision for returning it. I urge these gentlemen to not politicize things”, Topi declared.

The head of the Albanian state expressed his indignation against the declaration of the Ministry of Environment, underlining that the leaders of this institution are exactly the ones who are not being concerned for the Albanian environment.

“I have never seen an environment representative to be so uninterested about the environment of his country. I would like to hear the thoughts of the Albanian citizens. The law is constructed in such a way that it is mainly correct, but correctable about a matter that I didn’t overlook”, Topi underlined.

The President then answered to the accusations made against him by the Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, who made him one of the responsible people that made Albania fail with the candidate status.

“These ladies and gentlemen should learn how to communicate. They must know how to communicate in an ethical way, because they are communicating with the institution of the Precedence. If the Speaker of the Albanian Parliament takes her speeches by others, the matter here is how well she reads that speech. I invite them to be citizens and speak the Albanian language correctly”, Topi declared.

Parliament Reacts: Topalli speaks the dialect of Fishta

The press office of the Albanian Parliament reacted after the declaration of the Albanian President, Bamir Topi, against the Speaker Jozefina Topalli, releasing a declaration which read:

“Topalli speaks with pride and self consciousness the beautiful Albanian dialect of Fishta. Topalli speaks the dialect of Kol Idromeno, Migjeni and Gurakuqi. ‘Haxhi Qamili’ cannot understand Topalli’s language”.
