The Albanian President, Bujar Nishani, decreed this Friday the new
rectors of public universities in a ceremony held at the Presidency.
Nishani said that university independence is the essence of governing, and the higher education reform aims to reinforce this independence.
The President said that the right to education is one of the freedoms that have found protection from the Constitution. He added that universities should realize hopes and dreams of the new generation.
As for the higher education reform, Nishani said that it is essential for the entire society.
