President, Nano meets Republicans

The former Albanian Prime Minister and also former Socialist leader,
Fatos Nano, met with the Republican Party leader, Fatmir Mediu, as part
of his campaign for receiving the support of the political parties
leader before declaring his official candidacy for the next president.

After the meeting, Mediu declared that the Republican Party will hold discussions within the majority, underlining that the political dialogue is necessary.

“The Republican position about the Presidential candidacies will be taken after discussing with the Democratic Party”, Mediu declared, adding that it would be better if the Presidential candidates would dialogue with each other.

Nano gave no other details about the meeting, but he valued Mediu for his consideration. Nano declared that the next meeting will be between the Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who considered this a first hand meeting.
