President meets leaders over Bank of Albania vacancies

The President has his right to fulfill all constitutional obligations. In hope and believe that this will be done in a constructive and responsible way”, Meta declared.

Meta: Justice reform, through consensus

The majority is being careful with its judiciary reform steps. This was shown in the declaration of the Albanian Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta. When asked by Top Channel of when is expected the establishing of the Parliamentary Commission for the Judiciary Reform and if this commission will be functional without the opposition.

“First of all, we should not lose the hopes that the opposition will return in Parliament, because the Parliament is the place of people who represent the citizens and the opposition has its irreplaceable place. Certainly that the Parliament must play a key role for the justice reform, same as it has played in every important reform, because every reform goes through the Parliament. We all know that we are a parliamentary republic. There’s no better place for the opposition to express their ideas than the Parliament”, Meta declared.

Meta gave these comments after a joint press conference with his Czech counterpart, Jan Hamacek, who said that this visit would give new impulses to the relations between two parliaments. Hamacek underlined that the import-export relations between the two countries need to be intensified. He proposed the establishing of a direct line from Prague to Tirana, in order to increase the number of tourists.
