President meets homologues in New York

During his visit in the United States, the Albanian President, Bujar
Nishani, attended a series of meetings with heads and personalities of
different countries, including the US President, Barack Obama.
Besides the annual meeting with the Pan Albanian Federation “Vatra”, Nishani met the Italian Prime Minister, Mario Monti, with whom he discussed about the mutual relations between the two countries and the further reinforcement of the economic development.
The Head of the Albanian State also met the Slovakian President; the Slovenian Prime Minister; the Bulgarian President and the Prime Minister of Bhutan.
President Nishani also had a special meeting with the famous Hollywood actor, Robert De Niro, who has recently declared that he might have some Albanian blood in his veins.
The Foreign Minister, Edmond Panariti, held meetings with nine Foreign Ministers from different countries, five of whom are homologues from the EU.
Besides the integration issues, Nishani also focused on the lobbying for Kosovo’s independence and the reinforcement of the economic cooperation with different countries, and also the attraction of new investments in Albania.
