President Ilir Meta receives first Ambassador of Japan

The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, received today in a courtesy
meeting the first Japanese Ambassador residing in Tirana, Makoto Ito.

Meta expressed Albania’s gratitude for the great assistance Japan has offered during the past two decades in our country’s economic development and infrastructure, as well as for education and environment.

Greeting Japan’s decision to open an embassy to Tirana, the Albanian President expressed his trust that now they have all the possibilities to increase and strengthen cooperation between both countries. Meta also encouraged Japanese investments in Albania, especially in tourism and agriculture.

The Japanese Ambassador to Tirana, Mr.Makoto Ito, brought a congratulatory message from Emperor Akihito of Japan, addressed to Ilir Meta’s inauguration as President of Albania.
