Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Albanian President, Bamir Topi, visited the town of Shengjin where
he was honored with the title “City’s Gratitude”, with the motivation:
“For the special contribution in promoting culture, tradition and
tourist potentials in the Shengjin Commune, for his role as moderator
and his constant commitments for strengthening dialogue, democracy and
constitutional institutions in Albania”.
The Head of the Albanian State met the head of the commune, Salvador Kacaj, MPs of the area and other local leaders, councilors and citizens.
The President exchanged thoughts for the newest developments in the region, mainly on the economic-social specter, by underlining two important aspects: the development of tourism and infrastructure with the goal to improve the services to the Albanian and foreign citizens.
The need of new investments and projects was also highlighted, in order to preserve the coastline and for making it more attractive to tourists, by offering relaxing environments, qualitative services and competitive prices of developed urbanism.
Speaking about the vital significance of the Shengjin Port, as a strategic point that helps the developments of this area and wider, they emphasized the importance of this Port for Kosovo, as one of the nearest exit to sea.
