The Albanian President, Bujar Nishani, said that the government is not
allowing the government to investigate the existence of the “spy
equipment” and if it has been used by the Interior Ministry illegally.
“The government must send the equipment to the authorities, as soon as possible, together with the necessary documentation for the investigation process”, Nishani says.
The President adds that the agreement with the Italian authorities is not related to the spy equipment and how it is used.
“The government must stop its efforts to lie to the public opinion about the cooperation agreement with the Italian authorities. The President condemns the irresponsible effort of the government do confuse the excellent partnership and cooperation between Albania and Italy in the fight against organized crime with illegal actions of specific segments of the Interior Ministry”, he said.
Nishani’s reaction concluded with an appeala ddressed to the Prosecutor General.
“He must use his full legal authority to avoid obstacles in the investigation”, the President says.
