The Albanian Parliament started the countdown for the Presidential
elections. On the last constitution deadline for starting the
presidential election procedures, the Parliament Speaker, Jozefina
Topalli, appealed the Conference of Chairmen of the Parliamentary Groups
to officially mark the opening of the new presidential elections.
The first voting procedure will be on May 30th at 10:00. This is the date that was established through consensus by the Conference of Chairmen.
No one knows if the president will be elected through bipartisan consensus, and it seems that even the highest political levels of the majority cannot answer to this.
The Democratic Party Parliamentary Group leader, Astrit patozi, declared that if the President will not be elected on the first round, the Conference of Chairmen will establish another day.
After the meeting of the Conference of Chairmen, Socialist Gramoz Ruci had no comment for the media.
Since it is still unclear about what will happen, the regulation considers the voting as complete even if there will be no declared candidates.
