President: Disagreements not to halt integration

The Albanian President, Bamir Topi, declared that the Albanian political
class, although involved in the daily political debates and harsh
rhetoric, have clearly read the messages of Brussels regarding Albania’s
EU integration progresses and the necessary reforms for this goal.
During a meeting with the EU General Director for Enlargement, Stefan Sannino, the Head of the Albanian State declared that the Albanian political class will know how to reflect and put Albania’s interest before their political agenda, despite the difficulties for finding a concrete and immediate cooperation through the establishment of mutual institutional dialogue.
“This has been the essence of their constant public messages and appeals. Albania’s European future and aspirations must not be put in question by political disagreements”, Topi declared.
Sannino expressed the deep gratitude for this meeting with President Topi, and valued the institutional and constitutional role of the President for administering the current political and institutional situation, and the correct messages that he has given for the public.
