Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, declared in today’s meeting
of the Democratic Party leadership that in the meeting with the allies
he noted a clear political will for giving to the country a President
with values, virtues, abilities and integrity.
Berisha accused the Socialist leader, Edi Rama, of trying to turn the presidential issue into a bargain.
“Rama talks about crisis, political executions of all Central Election Commission members, although they are all voted by the political specter, giving this way the extraordinary example of what is unacceptable for this time. He raises against all Central Election Commission members, declares them enemies and wants them to be removed immediately, while we invite them to elect the President through consensus”, Berisha declared.
Berisha underlined that Rama, despite the majority’s efforts to cooperate for the presidential election, is answering with accusation that according to the Prime Minister hide the will of the Socialist leader for blocking the integration process.
Berisha reminded Rama about the Constitutional amends that they decided together in 2008, emphasizing that the president should be elected through consensus and then the reforms can conclude.
“We are ready to change the Constitution for removing the immunity”, Berisha declared, reiterating that there will be no meeting between him and Rama for the presidential matter, reminding that the most important reforms for the country have been realized without any meeting between them.
Rama reacts on Twitter
The Socialist leader reacted on twitter against the Prime Minister’s declarations.
“The Prime Minister has learned in Enver Hoxha’s schools to turn white to black and black to white. I repeat: political will, not nonsense”, Rama wrote on Twitter.
Rama added in another message: “The reforms were blocked by the Prime Minister’s lack of will for a political solution, not the technicians and mathematicians. Dialogue means good will, not bar chats”.
According to Rama, the political dialogue was asked by the international interest.
SMI leadership gathered
Almost on the same time with the Democratic Party, the Socialist Movement for Integration gathered its leadership.
In this meeting, the leadership authorized the SMI leader, Ilir Meta, to discuss the political negotiations for finding the name of the next president of the country.
The SMI leader is also expected to meet his allies at the Parliament Assembly.
