The follow-up of policies towards minorities for both countries was discussed this Thursday between Albanian President Bajram Begaj and his counterpart Rumen Radev in the capital of Bulgaria.
During the official visit to Sofia, Begaj expressed Albania’s will and interest in strengthening economic cooperation with Bulgaria, including trade exchanges.
“Today there are all the conditions and opportunities, such as the legal framework and the favorable business climate, for this cooperation to be strengthened more”, said President Begaj
“The next session of the Joint Economic Commission will very carefully address all the possibilities and will set in motion all the relevant mechanisms”, declared President Begaj.
According to the head of state, the 8th Corridor project should be used as best as possible.
“An added value in this direction and which should be utilized as best as possible, is the geostrategic project of the 8th Corridor, for which I expressed gratitude for the significant lobbying of Bulgaria in its inclusion in the Trans-European transport network”.
Begaj also congratulated Bulgaria for supporting Albania’s European ascension, which he assessed as a “major strategic project”, while expressing the belief that this approach will continue during the negotiations for membership in the Union.
