Poverty in 2011, worst in Tepelena
05/01/2012 00:00
The citizens of Tepelena think that 2011 was one of the most problematic
years in the economic point of view, when the unpaid food tabs in
stores grew and the emigrants who work and live in Greece have brought
fewer revenues.
Tepelena has 13.000 residents, and almost every family has one member in emigration. For other southern regions, 2011 was the year when many emigrants returned homo definitively, but this was not the case for Tepelena.
Shop clerks say that the emigrants did not return even during the New Year’s celebrations.
This year was closed with the worst economic balance for the city.
