The Democratic Party has released a statement regarding the elections in the university bodies and the decision of Minister Besa Shahini to postpone them.
“Edi Rama’s record with the higher education is the same as his records with elections in the coutry. When he can’t win them, he uses every dirty tool to seize his power. Holding elections in higher education without professors and students, at the peak of extraordinary measures, does not differ from his criminal act of 4 years ago, when he tried to capture the University of Tirana through the underworld boss Emiliano Shullazi”, the statement said.
“The Democratic Party condemns the pressure and blackmail exerted during these days on teachers and students, and warns Edi Rama and his organized crime tools within higher education, to keep their hands off the Universities.
“Edi Rama and minister Besa Shahini must know that no one can violate the dignity of Albanian professors and students. No one can order elections without professors and without students. No one can ignore their will, for a regular and legal election process in Universities”, stated the DP’s statement.
