Pope supports Albania’s integration

“We support Albania in the integration road of the 100th year of
independence”, this is what Pope Benedicts XVI declared at a meeting
with the Albanian President in Vatican.
The Pope valued the role of our country for peace in the region, by praising Albania’s unique example of religious harmony and coexistence.
The Albanian President, Bamir Topi, valued the role of the Catholic Church and expressed his convinction that Vatican Will support the aspirations of the Albanian people.
One day ago, the President had a meeting with the “Saint Egidio” community, Msg. Vicenzo Palia and other leaders of this religious community. The President was accompanied by the first lady, Teuta Topi.
