The Holy Father declared from Vatican that he has chosen to visit
Albania, because our country has suffered from the communist regime.
Pope Francis declared that this visit is being held because many religious communities co-exist in peace in Albania.
“I greet the Albanian people and thank them for their preparations. I would ask everyone to follow me with prayers”, the Pope said.
The Holy Father arrives in Albania this Sunday, marking this way a historic moment for our country. The preparations have started since his visit was confirmed.
Pope Francis is the second Pope who visits Albania. The first was was John Paul II.
