EU had not been formed yet. In 2011, this figure was 31%.

In 1910, Albania was the poorest country in Europe. Today it’s the second before last, leaving behind only Bosnia, which is involved by endless ethnic conflicts. All other economies, including those of the region, have a significant higher level of well being.
According to Eurostat, the revenues in Serbia in 2011 were 35% of the EU average, 36% in Macedonia, 43% in Montenegro and 52% in Turkey. 100 years of independence are a strong motive of celebrations, but three days ago the Albanians should have had more reasons to be proud of.
