Poni: Problems with unidentified addresses for voters

The Deputy Interior Minister, Ferdinand Poni, declared on a press
release that the double names on the electors least are less than 3000.
According to the Deputy Minister, the double names will be verified once
again before the electoral elections of June 23rd.
“We have information from the Civil Registrar’s Office for 1821 persons who are not doubled names, but different persons with the same name. We have cleaned and blocked 2053 names from this list. After generating the extract of April 3rd 2013, we have only 2948 doubled records”, Poni declared.
According to the Interior Ministry, the high number of voters with unidentifiable residence is still a problem.
“From 545.000 voters with an unidentifiable residence, today we have 405.779”, Poni declared.
Poni appealed the local units to respect the law for deciding that the voting centres will be distributed for not more than 1000 voters and not less than 200.
According to Poni, there are still 24 voting centres that are considered illegal. Poni declared that it is irresponsible for the local government to establish voting centres with 11 voters.
