
One of most polluted rivers in Albania is the Ishm River, which runs from Dajti Mountain and pours into the Adriatic Sea.
Although some part of the river is cleaned, only in the segment that passes through Tirana, water after the area of Vora and until tis delta by the Adriatic Sea is highly polluted.
Sewage waters and other chemical waste materials have amde the flora and fauna of this river disappear, although it used to be one of the cleanest.
Today, this river not only floods over six villages in Vore, Fushe Kruje and Fushe Kuqe area, but it has turned into a problem for the residents due to the pollution.
The heavy smell and the chemical substances of the river have obliged the residents to not use it even for irrigation. The pumps now are out of order, while none from the Environment Inspectorate and Hygiene Directory did not interfere to prevent this polluting massacre.
