Pollution in Elbasan has reached concerning levels and for this reason
the Prefect of the District, Shefqet Deliallisi and the Regional
Directory of Environment have declared that extreme measures are needed
to be taken, even closing the activity of the industrial companies that
do not respect the pollution parameters.
The measurements made in October showed that the breathable dust level is 20% higher than the norm.
The Head of the Bradashesh Commune in the former Metallurgic Plant area said that together with the residents they will ask the closure of the plant.
“We must resolve this problem and take final measures. If we want to close it, we can do it by interfering with our 10.000 residents”, Sollaku declared.
The Regional Environment Agency Director, Adi Madhi, declared that the rolling mill plant was closed, due to the bad fuels they used.
“The technical parameters of the fuels should be within the norms. The ones that are sold in Albania are prohibited. We have closed the plant until the broken gas sector will be repaired”, Madhi declared.
