The Albanian President and the Head of the OSCE in Tirana, Ambassador
Wollfarth, held a press release after their meeting, which is rare in
these occasions.

By felicitating the women for March 8th, they donated a flower to the female journalists. The president declared that he discussed three topics with Ambassador Wollfarth: the participation of women in politics, which normally should be encouraged by the gender quotas of the parties at the electoral lists.

“I don’t want to be critical for the parties, but they must realize what they say, although I haven’t agreed with the figures that limit even psychologically the presence of women”, Bamir Topi declared.

The second discussion topic: the Administrative Court. According to the President, the business is looking forward for the passing of the law that will allow the creation of this specific court.

“We agreed with the ambassador that it is unexplainable why the Administrative Court law is being delayed, when all parties agree that it is something that should be realized as soon as possible”, the President declared.

In this meeting was also mentioned the property issue, one of the worst problems that has the political class as responsible, according to the President.

“The politics cannot afford to treat the property issue by bringing infinite administrative acts, making the best property specialist confused. The administrative acts come out once or twice a month and increase confusion”, Topi declared.

Ambassador Wollfarth considered as very important the property reform issue. He expressed his wish for more women to win in the next parliamentary elections.
