Politicians, test in front of EU

The EU candidate status will have the Albanian politicians and the EU
representatives meet each other at the fourth inter-parliamentary
meeting for Albania’s EU Association and Stabilization.

Top Channel has secured a copy of the draft-agenda, which shows that the meeting will focus on two main issues: Albania’s position for the EU relations and the reforms for the Albanian Parliament. The meeting will be led by the European MP, Eduard Kukan.

In the end of the meeting is expected the approval of a joint resolution, with the consent of the majority members and the opposition. The EU representatives hope for the approval of this resolution, because the last three meetings were unable to conclude with a joint resolution.

In the last SAA inter-parliamentary meeting between Albania and the EU, the representatives of the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Stefan Fule, and those of his vice, Stefano Sanino, declared that the Albanian political class needs to mobilize for reaching concrete results, because the glory of the NATO membership and the visa liberalization is now a closed chapter.

In the last three meetings in Brussels was clearly seen a deep polarization in the debates between the Integration Minister, Majlinda Bregu, and the opposition members. They transmitted even to Brussels the Albanian political situation, which is dominated by a harsh rhetoric, based on mutual accusations.
