As a result of checks based on information about illegal tree cutting of wood for fire, the police in Shkodër in northernwestern Albania, announced the seizure of several trucks with illegal firewood material, during which 7 people were put under investigation.
The 7 suspected citizens, through an unregistered economic entity under the administration of the citizen G. L., illegally cut firewood from the forest areas of the village of Maranaj, and transported them in 3 trucks.
In addition to the above-mentioned suspects, the proceedings began for the criminal offense “Abuse of duty”, for the citizen R. H., 53 years old, forest inspector of the village of Maranaj.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of the Shkodra General Jurisdiction for further actions.
