Police official arrested in Tirana

A task force at the Tirana Prosecution cooperated with the Interior
State Audit and authorized the arrest of the Head of Crimes at Tirana
Police Department 1, Fatos Goxhaj, accused of asking money for closing a
criminal case.

According to the Interior Audit, he had been kept under surveillance for some time, since for offering to close cases against suspects in exchange of money.

The Tirana Police Directory made no declaration regarding Goxhaj’s arrest, while this is one of the first cases when a police officer is accused of corruption in the recent years.

Xhorxha started this duty a few months ago.
