Police firefight destroys criminal group

After exchanging fire with the members of a criminal group at the Avni
Rustemi square, Tirana Police announced of having destroyed a criminal
group, responsible for 20 masked and armed robberies.
Tirana Police Director, Sajmir Muca declared during a press conference that after the operation code named “The long wait”, they arrested six persons. Three were injured on the scene, two criminals and one police officer.
“During the firefight for neutralizing the criminals, who shot first, were wounded the citizens Bejo Pasha and Niklovan Curraj, the latter with a crime history of robberies”, Muca declared.
The Police Director announced the arrest of four other group members, Jonida Curraj, Ani Rrapa, Ilirjan Ilnica and Jetmir Elmazi. Police also seized as evidence a considerable amount of money and two vehicles.
By the end of the press conference, the Police Director showed videos of the robberies committed by this group, which aimed gambling centers.
