The General Chief of Police rejected the resignation of Shemsi Premci
and declared that he has been discharged from the police. According to
Burgaj, there have been a series of complaints about Premci.

“Police officers of the Diber District have complained for threats, blackmails and unjust transfers, which fall against the regulation. There have also been complaints from licensed private firms that operate in the chrome mains. They complain about power abuse and blackmail due to commercial competition. After the administrative investigation, with the proposition of Professional Standards Directory, the General State Police Director decided to discharge Shemsi Premci”, the Police spokesperson declared.

Shemsi Premci made even harsher accusations against what he calls a massive corruption with the chrome mines, saying that only 10% of the extracted chrome is officially declared.

“Those who have motivated my discharge for discipline and law violations, must know that my action-plan against crime was approved by them and supported for seven consequent days. I have investigated the Bulqize mines for two months and a half, and I have openly reported that only 10% of the chrome production is declared, because the mafia companies don’t declare their production. This building and the Interior Ministry have barricaded against the war against crime, and this is the most horrible thing”, Premci declared.

The former Diber Police declared that the Interior Minister, Bujar Nishani, had been having for two years the report of the Kosovo citizens who were traveling abroad with falsified visas, and that he took measures only two weeks ago, after the concerns raised by the international community.

On April 25th Premci resigned from the Diber Chief of Police post, a duty that he held since February 2012. Premci declared in a press release that he was obliged to resign because he had lost the battle against the chrome mafia, which is expanded from the Bulqize mines to the State Police, the government and the Prime Minister himself.
