The Special Prosecutor’s Office has issued several arrest warrants for persons accused of being part of a criminal group.
The Tirana police, during an operation near the village of Marikaj in the west of the capital, seized 1.1 kilograms of pure cocaine originating from Latin America and arrested 5 members of a criminal group led by Ergest Nexhipi and Brajan Lala.
The investigations for the discovery of this criminal group started in December of last year when the police tracked down Nexhipi and Lala, who are considered the leaders of the criminal group.
They had connections with other greater illegal traders in Durrës from where they obtained kilograms of cocaine, which they then gave to distributors in the capital to sell in small doses.
The other 3 arrested Mario Dema, Ledio Gashi and Ergi Saliu were well connected in Tirana, with distributors in bars and night clubs frequented by young people mainly in the Bllok area of the capital, the authorities said.
The police are deepening the investigations to arrest the people who supplied 5 kilograms of cocaine, but also other collaborators who profited from them.
