Polican, second Gerdec

After reporting the scandal for the repacked AK-47 bullets in the
Polican Plant, and the Fiks Fare images showing that this plant was
being destroyed and its equipments were being sold as metal scrap, the
Socialist MP of Berat, Fidel Ylli, declared that the entire operation in
this plant is illegal, same as in Gerdec, and it should be investigated
by the Prosecution. He said that while the US government is giving
funds for destroying the ammunition, the Albanian government is
repacking them for corruptive purposes.

“We are a NATO member country and the Ministry of Defence should make not a single illegal move. There could be a law for arms trade, but we must not have the Gerdec tragedy repeated. These Chinese weapons are prohibited by law in the US state. They are opening the metal boxes, are cleaning and repacking them in new cardboard boxes, ready to be sent in different destinations. All the responsible people should respond, starting from the Kombinat Director, the Minister and the Prime Minister”, Ylli declared.

MP Fidel Ylli says that another problem that concerns the Socialist Party, is the safety of the workers. He added that this plant has had deaths and no one has been held accountable.

“Not even that irresponsible director was held accountable, should realize the projects and use the money to invest and pay the taxes at the Polican municipality”, Ylli declared.

MP Fidel Ylli reported another corruptive scandal that according to him is being held in thsi plant. He says that the building is being prepared to be put on sale, in the same way as the other Defence Ministry assets, after all machineries of the plant were sold.

“I appeal the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister that they are destroying the plant that was built by the hard work of the citizens. All machineries that are still functional are being osld for metal scrap. They are destroying the buildings and very soon they will privatize it, as they are selling all assets of the Defence Ministry in the entire Albanian territory”, Ylli declared.
