Poet Ali Podrimja has passed away in France due to dehydration. Sources
from the Kosovo Foreign Ministry, quoted by the news agency
KosovoaPress, say that this is the preliminary report of the French
coroner.
The examination of the body revealed no signs of violence, and the suicide is excluded. The French authority says that Podrimja has lost his sense of orientation while taking a walk in the woods and he was dehydrated after walking for several hours.
His disappearance was reported by his relatives, who said that they had lost all contacts. The report that alarmed the Kosovo diplomacy was made on July 20th. One day later, the French Police found the dead body of the poet near the Lodeve town, where he was participating in an international poetry festival.
The lifeless body will arrive this Thursday in Kosovo, while the full autopsy of the French Police will bring the official results after two weeks.
Podrimja’s funeral will be held this Thursday at 14:30. The homage will start at the Academy of Science and Arts in Prishtina. The casket will be send to the final resting place at 14:30.
