The Albanian DP opposition persisted today not to allow any other discussion in the Assembly except the connections between PM Rama and the arrested former FBI official, McGonigal.
Amidst the tensions, the opposition deputies supporting the “re-establishment of the DP” acted in this way:
The socialist majority voted in favor of holding a motion debate with Prime Minister Edi Rama on March 2 and rejected the request for the dismissal of the speaker of the assembly Lindita Nikolla.
As the pulpit remained blocked for some hours, unlike the previous sessions the socialists did not choose the short way of voting on draft laws or closing the session, but continued with the discussions of the agenda.
However, the democratic deputies insisted that the parliament should deal only with Edi Rama’s accountability for the McGonigal case.
The arrival of Prime Minister Edi Rama in the session, shortly before the voting of the draft laws, did not undo the zeal of the opposition in blocking the floor.
Ermonela Felaj, the deputy speaker of the parliament, after several warnings, excluded the deputies Edmon Spaho, Elda Hoti and Sorina Koti from the works of the assembly.
