Prime Minister Edi Rama congratulated on social networks Talat Xhaferi after he became the first ethnic Albanian prime minister in North Macedonia.
With a photo of Albanian politicians Talat Xhaferit and Ali Ahmet shaking hands, Rama called it ‘a historic moment on the path of the Albanian community’.
“Boys want power to be recognized by others, while men want it do make others”, commented the Socialist Prime Minister of Albania.
“Ali Ahmeti can be fully criticized within the country, because it is the right and duty of anyone who is in the opposition to demand more from whoever is in power… But what Ali Ahmeti has done for the advancement of the rights of Albanians in the neighboring country, it is a historical lesson for all of us and the generations to come”, writes Rama on the X network.
With his resignation two days ago, Dimitar Kovacevski paved the way for the creation of the technical government of North Macedonia, whose task will be to prepare the parliamentary elections held on May 8 of this year.
The task passes to Talat Xhaferi, who thus becomes the first ethnic Albanian prime minister of the neighboring country. However, Xhaferi, who is expected to be voted into the head of the Macedonian executive no later than January 28, will not have full powers.
