At the end of the meeting with the political coordinators in the regions, Prime Minister Edi Rama said today regarding the issue of Covid-19 vaccines, that in Albania will arrive fewer doses than expected but enough to continue vaccination to doctors and the elderly.
Rama further added that the government is working to reach an agreement on vaccines with the company AstraZeneca.
“We are in a situation where we have a direct contract and we are not in the hands of EU mechanisms. We only have one shift in time, as the first doses of Pfizer should arrive in the third week of January but according to the latest confirmation, the first doses arrive tonight. We will continue in stages. We are very close to a final agreement with Astrazenca, we are continuing contacts with several countries. There are 3 companies with which we continue contacts and we are on the right track”, said Rama.
