Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, tonight’s guest on Top Channel’s “Top
Story”, hosted by Sokol Balla, said that the leader of the Socialist
Movement for Integration, Ilir Meta, was the right choice for President
of Albania.
“He can certainly compensate for the gap we have had so far. He has ties with everyone, access with everyone, speaks with everyone and tells everyone what he thinks”, Rama said.
Rama said that Meta’s name is conditioned by the current circumstances of our country.
“Meta’s candidacy comes naturally, because that’s what the current situation is. If it wasn’t for this situation, Meta would be trying to get even more Parliament Members, and be part of the active political life”, Rama said.
The Prime Minister said he was convinced that Meta would be appointed President of Albania tomorrow, with full support from the SP and SMI.
Will this move change the SP-SMI coalition?
“Ours is a strategic coalition, not a coalition of numbers. It’s a coalition that underlines a vision and program of reforms. Whe I speak about the opposition, I don’t speak about SMI”, Rama said.
